Beautiful Fall Weather

It has been fantastic weather with sun , warm air , temps of 22ºC  or  71ºF with fresh cool breezes . I have never known this late in Oct to ever be this lovely .  We still have some summer birds hanging around and some winter birds have returned !

Not only does the Robin feed on worms but when they aren't available they feed on our blossom trees berries ! He should be on his long trip by now !

Our winter Junco’s have returned !

As has our Downy Woodpecker who loves to play hide and seek with me in the tree !

Our Nuthatch stays with us all year round !

Most of the trees have changed and lost all their leaves now !

Our Miggy enjoying a nap on Ken’s work shop porch in the warm sunny weather we have been having !

Most of the trees in valley are bare now !

Just a few remain with colour !

A cascade of colour amongst the bare trees !

Turkey Vultures up top of the trees at the very top of the valley !

Sun Set & Sun Rise Over The Valley

As the orange sun set shines on the trees of the valley  and dark clouds in the background roll by the sight of it looks like a painting !

I was on the front porch when taking these photos and this is also the scenery  I see every day  from my kitchen window as the day comes to an end  with beauty  and starts with beauty !

A Few Fall Photos !

I love the look of the Cedar leaves this time of year !

Cedar leaves all over our wood pile !

Party at the feeders , coming in for a landing !

                                                                          Taking a break !

Takes skill to balance and crack open a seed on a tiny branch in a breeze  !

We have a few of these little Nuthatches . I am able to get really close to them , they don't seem to mind me at all now !

Fall , so full of colour , freshness in the air and busyness from nature preparing it’s self for the winter months  .

Light Morning Frost

I am the type of person who likes  to photograph just about anything. I will go out early in the mornings in my PJ’s to get photos before what ever it is I see is gone like this morning .

The sun was rising and I noticed it was starting to melt some of the frost already so I had to get my frost photos quick .

I love the way the sun makes the frost twinkle as it reflects off of it !

And how the frost forms on everything !

So much out there to capture , there’s never a dull moment with camera in hand !

From Our Back Yard

I love going out in the yard and just searching for things to photograph , more like I don't feel as happy  if I don't take a photo or two every day ! The passion and love of photography and nature !

The air is so clear and fresh this time of year !

My best photo subject , Our Miggy who loves the camera !

Trying to hide from me little bird ?

                                                                           Show off !!!!!!!

The thing I love is I don't have to travel to take nature photos , with the country valley we live in , forest and river around us  gives us lots of different nature right in our own back yard and as I walk this lovely country valley , forest and river I have even more to photograph with in a few minuets  of a wonderful  walk from home !

The End Of Our Walk

A little history in our village !

The Edison Museum !

a small Ontario village with a long history

Vienna, Ontario, is located on the banks of the Big Otter River, and has been described as "a blink of a town"!
According to the last census - "Vienna is a small town of 566 residents in the Otter Valley"
This village has a history dating back to 1811, but its main claim to fame is that itVienna - Thomas Edison was the birth place of one of the Grandfathers of Thomas Alva Edison - inventor of the electric light-bulb.
Thomas Edison was a prolific inventor and held over 1,000 patents.
While reading a Biography of this amazing man, I was gratified to learn that he only attended school for a period of about three months, and other than that he was educated at home by his mother - wow - Thomas Edison was Home-Schooled!

Did I say how much I like the little barns in this village ?

Just behind this property is a part of our lovely valley with the river known as the Otter river behind it  the same river that runs through the park I showed in my last post of our walk . I can see this valley from my kitchen window every day as well but walking it is soo much better !DSC_0049

This bridge  has been here since the early 1800s runs over the Otter river , it is just a hop, skip and a jump from our house and the road is long and comes to an end . All forest is around and it’s wonderful to hike in , see and hear all the nature !

Above photo taken from the bridge !

The long dead end road on the other side of the bridge !

So many lovely smelling crunchy leaves every where now !

Home again , Home again jigaty , jig !  Had that said to me as kid every time we retuned home from somewhere !

Miggy and I always enjoy our walk through and around our village but she does like coming home to her yard and toys !

Our hummers have gone now and the only thing that's supping up the nectar in the feeders are the wasps .

Another of  my fall flowered bushes have just bloomed !

Well that's , that . Hope you enjoyed the last part of our walk and  the tid bit of history we have . Believe me there’s a lot more history to this little village, so much more we have our own Historical book that goes back as far as 1855 .

This weekend is our Thanksgiving weekend  !

Until next time , Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all Canadians out in blog land and a wonderful weekend to you all !
