It has been very chilly this month so far some places have had frost already ! Some birds have  left as has some creatures whilst others have arrived and some are still here and seem to be contemplating  their big journey !

The sky’s have a deep blue and almost a cold look to them !

Pray mantis still lurk about !

Summer 2013 (3 of 41)

Whilst this summer the butterfly's were quite scares but these little Cabbage moths were fluttering about by the thousands  and still are !

A time of season for Golden rod and wild flowers to burst with colour through the fields and ditches along the country road sides !

As the air changes and winds blow more big white puffy clouds float by in many different formations .

Very nice photos Elaine, I don't think I have ever seen a praying mantis around here...how interesting to find one in your backyard.

The weather is certainly changing ... cool mornings but lovely afternoon. Sunny today but rain for tomorrow. How do you still manage 2 blogs, I gave that up ages ago as just couldn't keep up with it.

Great photos Elaine. I almost missed the hummer in the first one as I thought it was a leaf! We are still getting hummers here too. There were 2 at the feeder a few minutes ago. I'll certainly miss them. I've never seen a praying mantis anywhere. Cool shot. Pam

The change of seasons is always a time for so many great photo ops as you have shown us, Elaine. We are not quite there yet on the Va eastern shore.

Beautiful photos. The hummers are converging on south Texas this month on their migration.
Blessing,
