New Bird In The Yard

 

This is the first time I have seen one these birds ! A Brown Thrasher . He visited our yard for a brief moment ! Seems to be quite the skittish  fellow so had to take photos quickly !

Walking Our Valley

 

I love going for walks with my Miggs and seeing and hearing all kinds of nature with in our valley  village. We have vast forest around wide open fields and spaces and a lovely river that flows through and around our valley village .

                                               There is so much beauty in the scenery here .

The Killdeer, one of the many breeds of birds that make home here in the changing seasons ! All the birds call and sing so wonderfully as it echo's through out the valley ! Soon the peepers will be singing in the marshy wooded areas  as will the crickets !

In the distance on top of the hill through the bare trees is a farm ! We have lots of farms with in and around the valley !

                       The Geese and ducks nest on the banks of the river !

Our village valley is large and land is plentiful for nature with grassy fields , forests and a river . It is a birders haven as we get all kinds of breeds arrive here and nest each changing season and wild life is nestled deep in the woods ! What could be better then walking out your front door to all of this and more !

Under A Spring Sunrise

 

It is still cold here  Old man winter just wont give up the ghost, not the spring weather I expected but none the less  signs of spring are slowly appearing  and the spring birds are busy and happy !

Sweet Signs Of Spring Are Here !

 

All signs that spring is just a few weeks away have already arrived . The Robins are here chirping and singing , the Grackles and Redwing black birds are back as are the Starlings and critters are out and about !

  The temps today are warmest they have been this season and the sun is shining it’s warmth as well !

As we bounced the clocks an hour ahead this morning to welcome day light savings time and have more day light now !

        The Redwing black bird   looked and sounded happy to be back  as he sings his  song that reminds me of being in the march !

                           As the  Starlings  swarm and gather upon the tree tops !

          Oh the sweet signs of spring are now upon us as all returns and sprouts a new ! As the Canada Geese fly from place to place  back to their spring  home and Tundra Swans fly over to prepare for their migration to a colder place now , to buds on the trees and bushes waiting to bloom , oh the sweet signs of Spring  are here !

Photo Shoot !

                     

Ken and I went to do a photo shoot yesterday at an Amish farm to take photos of our client’s  team of Belgian’s and his Dutch Warmblood  for a horse catalogue !

                       The Dutch warmblood pulled their wagon they use as transportation !

                     I took about 500 photos . It was cold but well worth it as I was able to do what I love to do be around horses and take photos !

Spring Is Around The Corner !

 

The sign of spring appears more and more now as I have seen and heard our Robins return and the male Cardinal is singing his mating song . The birds are all happy and chirping more and some critters have appeared  from the woods ! 

The Tundra Swans are making their spring flight for Migration to another cold climate  and the Canadian geese are looking for spring homes .

                                      I think the Goose here flying with the Swans is a bit confused !

The sun sets are getting later and temps are getting warmer ! The Moon shines bright as it rises early in the evening and becomes ever changing through out the new season !

Having Fun !

 

Once I get out there and start taking photos I get so lost in each and every moment of taking photos especially when it is nice and sunny and nature is posing for me  and all in our back yard! It gives me a chance to practice and enjoy nature as well . Here are a few of  my favourite's  from the hundred or so photos I took today !

We have so many different breeds of birds here . I have counted so far 15 different breeds we have visit our feeders . We also have lots of critters , Cottontail bunny's , Squirrels and chipmunks and the odd Possum and  Raccoon and I have photos of every single one them .The only animals I need to get photos of are the Deer that come around but they are tricky to capture as they are so skittish  but like all the other animals I will capture them in a photo one day always up for a challenge taking photos of nature ! Just full of nature here and I love it !
